Playwrights and Master Actor Workshop

January 10-12, 2020 – Boston, MA

What’s more exciting than bringing a story to life; creating characters and hearing actors speak your lines with emotion?

The playfest is a collaboration. Groups will work together and talk about ideas and the basics of writing. Some may only be there for the acting, but knowledge of what motivates the story makes it more real for everyone. This is your opportunity to discover the thrill of producing your own work!

While writers finesse their scripts, actors will be part of a Master Acting Workshop. Leading this class will be working professionals who teach in the industry.

Writers will work with a published playwright Dramaturg to mold and finesse the script. Actors will join in to be cast in particular roles and inspire the writers with their interpretations. Re-writes will happen. Blocking and staging will evolve. The creative collaboration will culminate in performance before an audience on Sunday night! Each show will run 10 minutes with a cast of 5.

During this challenging weekend industry guest stars will add to the excitement, meeting one-on-one with you and sharing their experiences in developing projects.
